Project ID: BA17004

Project Title: Tribological roles of 2D-0D nanocomposites as additives in water based lubricants (IH140100035)

Investigators:
  • Professor Han Huang, The University of Queensland
  • Professor Zhengyi Jiang, University of Wollongong
  • Professor Lianzhou Wang, The University of Queensland
  • Professor Sihai Jiao, Baosteel Research Institute

The aim of this project is to optimise the synthesis process so the water-based nanolubricants that were developed for laboratory testing in the previous BAJC project (BA13012) can be produced in large scale, and this nanolubrication technology can then be implemented into heavy plate mills in Baosteel to reduce 5% of the rolling force to solve the overloading problem in finishing rolling, as the first step of the industrial application of nanolubricants in hot rolling. The on-mill supply to roll gap system and the recycling technology for the developed nanolubricants will also be developed.
