The microalloyed Mg-Zn-Gd , Mg-Zn-Ca and Mg-Ca-Zn materials that are produced under different alloy compositions and thermo-mechanical processing conditions are to be characterized and evaluated. A novel lightweight magnesium product that has near-room temperature formability and satisfactory mechanical properties and environmental performance and coatability will be developed and a knowledge platform will be built up.
