Substrate immersion technique, coupled with mathematical modeling of heat transfer, fluid flow and thermo-mechanical behaviors are to be employed for investigating the effect of key processing parameters on the early stages of solidification in various types of metallic strip, and a lab-scale twin roll casting experiments will be performed, together with further investigation of secondary processing, like rolling and heat treatment, to understand the optimized processing parameters that can be translated directly to the processing plant for improved strip casting performance.
